Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has announced the results of its essay writing competition organised as part of the Deekshotsav celebrations leading up to the university’s 24th Convocation Ceremony.
The competition was organised by the University’s Cultural Centre under the inspiration of Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel and the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh. It was open to students from the university campus as well as affiliated colleges.
The essay topics, prescribed by Raj Bhavan, Lucknow, focused on contemporary and developmental themes, including the Indian and global economy, notable achievements of the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments, and significant progress made by universities and institutions over the past decade in the fields of healthcare, agriculture, education and technology. Participants presented their ideas with originality, analytical thinking and creativity.
The competition aimed to enhance students’ writing skills, encourage logical reasoning and promote awareness of current affairs and national development.
Jaimini Varshney, an M.Pharm student from the university campus, secured the first prize. Tasheemay Khanam, a B.Com (Honours) student, was awarded the second prize, while Deepanshu Deep, an M.A. (History) student from the university campus, claimed the third prize. The organisers noted that the overall standard of entries was highly commendable.
The winners will be honoured with prizes and certificates at a forthcoming ceremony.
Congratulating the students on their achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh, Registrar Mahendra Kumar, Chief Proctor Prof. Ravindra Singh, Cultural Coordinator Dr. Jyoti Pandey, Dr. Inderpreet Kaur, Dr. Reena Pant, and members of the Cultural Club extended their best wishes to all participants.
